Project Type
Measured Building Survey, Laser Scanning
Location
Aberdeen, Scotland
Scope
We were engaged by Tinto Architecture to conduct a measured building survey of 125 Union Street, a property previously occupied by Bravissimo. The aim was to provide the client with accurate spatial data to support the marketing of the unit for future lettings and sale.
Our scope included capturing precise measurements and producing detailed 2D drawings that would serve as a reliable foundation for any future design, refurbishment, or planning activities. To achieve this, we deployed one experienced surveyor onsite to perform a full laser scan of the premises, ensuring coverage of all internal and external areas. The deliverables comprised 2D DWG floor plans, elevations, and sectional drawings tailored to the client’s requirements.
Solution
To guarantee accuracy and efficiency, we utilised advanced laser scanning technology throughout the process. We employed an RS10 laser scanner in conjunction with a total station control survey to capture high resolution point cloud data of the entire building. This approach allowed us to create precise 2D floor plans and associated drawings with minimal disruption to the site. The resulting documentation provided Tinto Architecture with a robust dataset that could be seamlessly integrated into their design workflows, ensuring compatibility with CAD software and supporting informed decision-making for prospective tenants or buyers.
Benefits
The project was executed with speed and precision, requiring only a single day of onsite work by one surveyor. This streamlined approach delivered several key advantages:
- Accessible data for future planning
- Cost effective and efficient
- Quick Turnaround
