Project Type
Measured Building Survey, Topographic Survey, Utility Survey
Location
Cambuslang, Scotland
Scope
We were instructed by Wylieshanks Architects to conduct a measured building survey, topographic survey and a PAS 128 utility survey at the Bogleshole Road site. As the project required multiple survey types, we deployed two surveyors to complete the work efficiently and minimise any operational disruption to the site.
Solution
The topographic survey was completed using GNSS and total station techniques, supported by high-resolution UAV imagery. For the measured building survey, we utilised a laser scanner to capture millions of data points, to produce a highly detailed and accurate point cloud tied to OS control marks from the topographic survey. This was essential to ensure that all datasets were homogeneous as the client requested a Revit model deliverable, developed to LOD 300., as well as 3D and 2D DWG drawings for the topographic and utility surveys. The PAS 128 utility survey was completed using both electromagnetic location and ground penetrating radar techniques in accordance with Quality Level B of PAS 128.
Benefits
Our multi-survey approach enabled us to deliver all required outputs in a single site visit. By combining traditional survey methods with advanced technology, we provided the client with a comprehensive dataset, detailing both above and below ground features in a variety of formats suitable for design and planning purposes.
- Multiple deliverables from one project
- Precise, accurate data in different formats
- Holistic dataset both above and below ground
- Complete in-house service
