Project Type
Measured Building Survey
Location
Aberdeen, Scotland

Scope

We were instructed by an architectural firm to conduct a measured building survey at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, focussing on two floors of the building. The objective was to produce 2D floor plans, 2D section drawings and a large colourised point cloud to support design works. The survey aimed to capture precise spatial data while minimising disruption to hospital operations.

Solution

We had two experienced surveyors on site using a combination of laser scanning and total station techniques to carry out the works. Laser scanning enabled rapid data capture, whilst the use of total stations allowed us to install a precise control network which was used to verify our deliverables. The methods used provided us with a robust dataset which was then processed into detailed drawings and a colourised point cloud. The project had a tight turnaround time with instruction and delivery within one week.
