Project Type
Drone Survey and Control/Laser Scanning
Location
Princes Street, Edinburgh

Scope

We were engaged to undertake a comprehensive control survey at the former Debenhams store on Princes Street, Edinburgh. The primary objective was to establish and document a control network that would serve as a reference point to future setting out works.

We were also instructed to conduct a drone survey of the site, with the aim to capture hi-resolution imagery of the building and surrounding context.

Solution

As the project required multiple deliverables, we deployed two experienced surveyors to carry out the work efficiently. The control survey was completed using a combination of total station and GNSS techniques to meet the accuracy requirements. We then updated an existing Revit model to align with the new control network, ensuring accuracy for ongoing design and construction planning.

Our UAV captured hi-res imagery of the building providing the client with a detailed visual record to support roof inspection activities.
