Scope
Adaptive Surveys were instructed by Scottish Canals to carry out survey work at Union Inn in Falkirk. The client required multiple deliverables so a multi survey approach was utilised to deliver a topographic survey with a 3D DWG drawing, a measured building survey of the main building and adjacent stables with accompanying Revit models as well as a visual roof inspection, conducted via UAV to provide hi-resolution imagery.
Solution
Our survey team were on site for two days to carry out the field work. The topographic survey was undertaken using GNSS and total station techniques. The roof inspection was carried out by our trained commercial UAV pilots, capturing hi-res images for the client. The measured building survey was completed using laser scanning techniques, capturing millions of data points to build a complete and accurate picture of the Inn and stables. A 3D Revit model was subsequently developed (LOD 300 for the Inn and LOD 250 for the stables).
